ACCOLAY

ACCOLAY (Groupe)

France (founded in 1945)

In 1945, after attending to Alexandre Kostanda’s courses at the ceramic school of Mâcon, Louis Dangon, Rodet, Slavic Palais and André Boutaud decided to create at Accolay, in Bourgogne, a ceramic manufacture. They were followed by Theodor Iotschine and Raphael Giarrusso integrating the group. Most likely commercial, the production was inspired by the success of Vallauris and Parisians ceramists. Some of the pieces are outstanding thanks to the quality of the enamel and the distortion of the typical forms of the fifties.
