Industrial designer, Antti Nurmesniemi is a student at the University of Arts and Design in Helsinki. As a collaborator of Artek, Merivaara, and Cassina, Antti Nurmesniemi is on the the main figures of the Finnish design. He was awarded the Lunning Price in 1959 and the Great Prize of the Milano Triennale in 1960 and 1964. During his career, he produces numerous pieces, from pieces of furniture to mobile phone and coffee sets. His most iconic piece is the Jakkara stool created for the Palace Hotel Sauna in Helsinki. Nurmesmiemi collaborated with Olli Borg and Olavi Hänninen to imagine the Palace Hotel from 1951 to 1953. International museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Stedelijk in Amsterdam and the Philadelphia Museum of Applied Art curate numerous pieces of his furniture.
