GATARD Denyse

Denise GATARD

France (1921–1992)

Denise (or Denyse) Gatard studied at the Academy de la Grande Chaumière, then she trained to be a ceramist with his brother Georges Jouve. She participated regularly to the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs et des Arts Ménagers. She liked the contrast of black and white, soft colours from straw yellow to anise green, the cracked, and natural shape free forms. In the middle of the sixties, Denise Gatard stops conceiving form pieces and she dedicates to jewelry in ceramic and resin.
