Born in Roma in 1935 from an industrial Italian family, Fabio Lenci begin his designer career around 1962. Quickly, he won the Trieste design price in 1965 for an inventive kitchen project. At the end of the 1960s, Fabio Lenci associate himself with Guzzini, an Austrian design editor to create more than 400 references, including usual pieces and more ambitious projects. Known for his minimal and conceptual shapes, the use of various new materials such as brass, Plexiglas and leather, Fabio Lenci employs himself to deeply renovate the shapes, as illustrated by his Focus lamp created in 1969. Multitasking designer, he was awarded in 2016 the prestigious Compasso d’Oro prize which honoured more than fifty years of his career.
