France (Born in 1928)

French architect Michel Mangematin settles in the United States in 1987 to study architecture with Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe. Those two icons of design will be striking for his whole life, both will have an extensive influence on his work as a designer. Michel Mangematin produces only three models of furniture : one dining table, a low table and an armchair which will never be produced. The three pieces are created with similar legs influenced by the famous « Barcelona » armchair. He devoted a major part of his career to architecture from theory of architecture to his role as a teacher at the Clermont-Ferrand school.
