France (1926-1995)

Pierre Guariche was a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Paris where he is taught by René Gabriel. He entered Marcel Gascoin’s workshop before creating his own company in 1951. In 1953, he started the Atelier de recherche Plastique with Michel Mortier and Joseph-André Motte, a fruitful collaboration that would last until 1957. Guariche then became head of the furniture department in the Belgian company Meurop and produces his creations by himself. Displayed at first in the Mai gallery, his works were then produced by Airborne, Disderot, Meubles TV, Huchers-Minvielle, Luminalite or Steiner. In 1965, Pierre Guariche was awarded the René Gabriel prize.
