Jacques RUELLAND

FRANCE (1926-2008)

Student at the end of the 40s in the painting section of the Ecole nationale supérieure de Beaux-Arts of Paris, Jacques Ruelland started working with clay in 1951. With his wife Danielle, he started studying ceramics at the Atelier des Beaux-Arts of Paris. Jacques Ruelland loved working with oxides and took inspiration from paintings but also theatre, dance or music. In 1970, the couple left Paris to settled down in the South of France where they work in two workshops in Mont-Ventoux and Angles. Jacques and Danielle Ruelland decided to not shelter their researches, they went on experimenting with forms, technics and materials.
