Following their meeting at the Cranbrook Academy of Art, Ray and Charles Eames married in 1941 and moved to Los Angeles. They wish to create pleasant and affordable furniture, able to satisfy consumers, manufacturers and designers alike, they are among the first to work with curved plywood, fiber glass and plastic. Progress in science and technology plays a decisive role in their creations. Passionately defending the idea of quality design within the reach of the greatest number, Ray and Charles Eames became a legend of modernism of the 1950s and 70s.
