Trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris from 1946 to 1949, Jacques Innocenti met his wife Lydia there, who became his muse and collaborator. In 1949, they left for Vallauris where Jacques Innocenti found his parents Gourju Odette and Lyuba Naumovitch, also ceramists, who trained him in their workshop known as the ‘Grand Chêne’. This experience led Innocenti to found his own workshop in Vallauris, from 1952. His work is distinguished by its skilful use of engobes in sought-after varieties of colors. Jacques Innocenti develops a hedonistic vision through his production. He explores intimate themes featuring full female figures or even an animal bestiary often within architecture. Jacques Innocenti passed away at the age of 32 in 1958.
