The gallery

Since 1999, the Alexandre Guillemain Gallery has specialized in 20th century design and decorative arts. It offers a rigorous selection of furniture and art objects that is constantly renewed. The Alexandre Guillemain Gallery exhibits internationally renowned designers and artists. True to the eclecticism that has driven it since its creation, the Gallery focuses its selection around 3 specialties:

20th century American furniture: Frank Lloyd Wright, George Nakashima, Harry Bertoia, Paul Evans, T.H Robsjohn-Gibbings, Paul McCobb, Edward Wormley, Vladimir Kagan, Paul Frankl, etc.

French and Italian lighting fixtures from the 1950s-1970s: Max Ingrand, Gino Sarfatti, Pierre Guariche, Gio Ponti, Robert Mathieu, Jean-Boris Lacroix, Oscar Torlasco, Stilnovo, etc.

French ceramics from the 1950s-1960s: Georges Jouve, Jacques and Dani Ruelland, Les 2 Potiers, Denyse Gatard, Roger Capron, Jean Derval, Jacques Pouchain, Elisabeth Joulia, Robert Deblander, Gustave Tiffoche etc.

Author of numerous monographic exhibitions (“Bernard-Albin Gras”, “Pierre Paulin: 1954/1962”, “Osvaldo Borsani & Tecno”, “Pierre Guariche: Les Introuvables”, “George Nakashima 50 years of creation”, “Frank Lloyd Wright” etc.) or thematic exhibitions (“Please, sit down! Assises de 1950 à 1980”, “American Masters”, “La céramique Moderne” etc.), the Alexandre Guillemain gallery participates each year in the PAD Paris and PAD London exhibitions.

The Alexandre Guillemain Gallery is the winner of the Contemporary Design Prize – PAD Paris 2017 and the 20th Century Design Prize – PAD Paris 2022.
