Angelo Lelli, both an industrialist and a designer, designed his first lamps, which he made in his cellar in 1943. In 1946, he took out an advertising page in Domus, where he presented his first three creations. The following year, he founded Arredoluce in Monza, and immediately took part in the Milan Triennale. The company’s motto: a high level of quality, hence a reduced production. Gio Ponti, Mario Tedeschi and Ettore Sottsass worked for Arredoluce, whose preferred materials were copper, marble, black lacquered aluminium, opaline and brightly coloured enamels.
